Best NGO Award - Tamil Nadu Women's Development Corporation (TNWDC) (2009-2010)
Mahasakthi Welfare Society was honoured with the Best NGO Award by the Tamil Nadu Women's Development Corporation (TNWDC), Chennai, for achieving 100% performance under the Mahalir Thittam Scheme in Theni District during the financial year 2009–2010. The organization successfully facilitated the formation of 125 Women's Self-Help Groups (SHGs), supported 150 groups through development initiatives, and conducted member, animator, and representative training programmes. The award was presented by the District Collector of Theni, Mr. Muthuveeran, in recognition of the organization's outstanding contribution to women's empowerment and community development.
Best Achiever Award - C. Pa. Adithanar Birth Anniversary (2006)
Dr. P. Kala Palaniappan, Founder & Secretary of Mahasakthi Welfare Society, was honoured with the Best Achiever Award during the 102nd Birth Anniversary celebrations of Tamil leader and media pioneer Dr. C. Pa. Adithanar on 27 September 2006. The award recognized her outstanding contribution to rural development and dedicated service to marginalized communities. The award was presented by renowned actor and film director Mr. Santhana Bharathi in the presence of distinguished literary and social leaders during a special cultural event held in Theni.
Best Social Work Award 2005-2006
Mahasakthi Welfare Society received the Best Social Work Award from the Rural Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, in recognition of its outstanding contribution to rural sanitation and the Clean Village Movement during the financial year 2005–2006. The award was presented to Mrs. Dr. Kala Palaniappan, Founder & Secretary, by Theni District Collector Mr. Rajesh Lakhani during the Independence Day celebrations held on 15 August 2006 at the Theni Sports Ground. Gold Star Millennium Award – 2011
Dr. P. Kala Palaniappan, Founder & Secretary of Mahasakthi Welfare Society, was honoured with the prestigious Gold Star Millennium Award and Gold Medal by the National Integrity Cultural Academy, Chennai, in association with A.S. Honorary Doctorate in Social Work
Dr. P. Kala Palaniappan, Founder & Secretary of Mahasakthi Welfare Society, was conferred the Honorary Doctorate in Social Work by Global Peace University in recognition of her outstanding contribution to women's empowerment, sustainable livelihoods, child welfare, and rural community development. The prestigious honour included a doctorate certificate, medal, and honorary distinction and was presented on 1 September 2019 by eminent dignitaries, including Hon'ble Justice Shri K. Gnanaprakasam, Hon'ble Justice Shri Mohan Doss, Dr. A. Ameerkhan, and international representatives of Global Peace University. This award recognizes her decades of dedicated service and lasting impact on marginalized communities.
Bharath Jyothi Excellence Award-2018
Dr. P. Kala Palaniappan, Founder & Secretary of Mahasakthi Welfare Society, was honoured with the prestigious Bharath Jyothi Excellence Award and Gold Medal on 27 October 2018 for her outstanding contribution to the successful implementation of the Mahalir Welfare Scheme and her dedicated service towards women's empowerment and rural community development. The award was presented by the National Integrity Cultural Academy (NICA), Chennai, in association with A.S. Media Vision and International Global Peace University, in the presence of eminent dignitaries including Hon'ble Justice K. Swamidurai, Hon'ble Justice V. Vaidyanathan, Dr. R. Sevam, Dr. C.R. Baskaran, and Dr. A. Ameerkhan.
Srishti Sanman Award - National Innovation Foundation (2002)
Dr. P. Kala Palaniappan, Founder & Secretary of Mahasakthi Welfare Society, was honoured with the prestigious Srishti Sanman Award by the National Innovation Foundation (Honey Bee Network), Ahmedabad, on 23 February 2002 at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad. The award was presented by renowned innovation expert Prof. Anil K. Gupta in recognition of her innovative environmental initiatives, including promoting the reuse of plastic, agricultural, and medical waste to create value-added products while generating sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural women. Her pioneering work in environmental awareness and eco-friendly innovations was also featured in the Honey Bee Network publication.
Kaliyuga Bharathi Award-2022
Dr. P. Kala Palaniappan, Founder & Secretary of Mahasakthi Welfare Society, was honoured with the prestigious "Kaliyuga Bharathi Award 2022" by the Federation of Indian NGOs and Humanity Service (FNI), in association with Award Indian Foundation, Trichy. The award recognizes her outstanding contribution to women's empowerment, social development, and humanitarian service. The award was presented by Mrs. Uma Bharathi, advocate, author, and great-granddaughter of the renowned poet Mahakavi Bharathiyar, during a special ceremony held at Shruthi Mahal, Tiruchirappalli.
Triveni Award 2024 - M3M Foundation, New Delhi
Mahasakthi Welfare Society, through Sakthi Farmer Producer Company Limited, was recognized with the prestigious Triveni Award 2024 organized by Young FICCI Ladies Organisation (YFLO) Delhi in association with M3M Foundation. The award recognizes outstanding social organizations driving innovation, sustainable livelihoods, women’s empowerment, agricultural development, and employment generation. Selected from over 200 applications across India, the organization was among the top participants recognized for its impactful community development initiatives. The award and certificate were presented by M3M Foundation in February 2025.
District-Level Manimekalai Award - 2010-2011
The Meera Women's Self-Help Group (SHG), established and mentored by Mahasakthi Welfare Society in Saruthupatti, received the prestigious District-Level Manimekalai Award for the financial year 2010–2011 from the Government of Tamil Nadu. The award recognized the SHG's outstanding performance, effective leadership, financial discipline, and significant contribution to women's socio-economic empowerment under the Mahalir Thittam programme. The award included a certificate and a cash prize of ₹10,000 and was presented by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Selvi J. Jayalalithaa, on 14 March 2013, in the presence of the Theni District Collector, Mahalir Thittam officials, and other government dignitaries. Best Stall Award-Government Exhibition (2005-2006)
The Anna Women's Self-Help Group (SHG), promoted by Mahasakthi Welfare Society, received the Best Stall Award (Third Prize) at the Tamil Nadu Government Multi-Product Exhibition held in Theni during 2005–2006. The award recognized the group's outstanding demonstration and promotion of eco-friendly jute bag production and sustainable livelihood initiatives. The award was presented by Hon'ble Members of Parliament Thiru Sudarsana Nachiappan and Thiru J. M. Haroon, in the presence of Hon'ble Union Minister Thiru Dayanidhi Maran, Theni District Collector Thiru Rajesh Lakhani, Thiru O. R. Ramachandran, MLA, and other distinguished dignitaries.
