About Us

Our work improves socio-economic status and self-reliance for women, children and farmers in underserved communities of Theni District, Tamil Nadu.

Founded in 1998, Mahasakthi Welfare Society is dedicated to holistic rural development, focusing on empowering marginalized women, children, and farmers through education, health awareness, skill development, vocational training, and environmental initiatives. The organization actively promotes self-help groups, financial inclusion, and life skills to enable economic independence and sustainable livelihoods. It works in collaboration with government programs and local partners to strengthen community development efforts. Over the past 28+ years, Mahasakthi has established more than 655 women’s self-help groups and supported the training of thousands of entrepreneurs. In addition, the NGO runs programs in child education, environmental conservation, and health awareness. It has been recognized with multiple awards from government and civil bodies for its social service. Tsunami & Disaster Relief Support

In response to the 2004 tsunami, the society collected funds and provided relief support to affected families & later supported cyclone and pandemic relief distributions.

Child Learning Material Distribution

Mahashakti Welfare Society annually provides school bags, notebooks and stationery to underprivileged students in Saruthupatty and surrounding villages, promoting regular school attendance and learning outcomes.

Disabled Persons Support Program

Organized World Disability Day celebrations with gifts, clothes, prosthetic limb assistance and inclusive community events.
